Promoting our work at the heart of Parliament

KSS AHSN was part of a Parliamentary Drop in Session at the Houses of Parliament, aimed at raising awareness of heart failure with MPs.

The event was hosted by KSS AHSN, the Alliance for Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy UK, the Heart Failure Policy Expert Group and Pumping Marvellous.

Jen Bayly, KSS AHSN’s Cardiovascular Lead and member of the Alliance for HF and the HF Policy Expert Group, was at the event to talk about our Enhancing Quality Heart Failure project.

“We’ve had great success with the project across Kent, Surrey and Sussex and we’re now at the stage where our work can be replicated across England, so this was a great opportunity to talk to MPs about KSS AHSN’s work in this area, and explain how we can support other settings looking to take it on.

“We want to provide others with the information in our dashboards that link quality (the process measures) with outcomes (admissions, LOS, mortality) and finance (Best Practice Tariff and outcome cost modelling)”.

“Through collaborative working and the delivery of the monthly dashboard reports, we’ll be able to give Acute and Community Services a robust tool to demonstrate how the services they deliver improve quality, reduce variation, place patients at the centre of change and deliver value for money.”
